It's definitely fall!

Papa has been to visit a couple of times and gone again. 

He was on the way to the hunting cabin

but had to stop and see his little girl!

There is not enough book time in the day for Mauren!

I tried braiding Mauren's hair again.....still need more practice

While the boys were away the girls played!

Erick left for a long weekend to hunt so Mauren and I visited

Cross Orchard Farms where we saw lots of trains, took a hay ride,

watched how apple cider was made and petted some farm animals.

We also were spotted out shopping on two occations!

Adoption Day ~ October 1st

October 1st is just like another birthday for Mauren!  We celebrated by going to McDonalds and eating ice cream!  Here's some pics from Mauren's special day.

I took a stab at braiding Mauren's hair again. 

I still need practice but was pleased with the results! 

Mauren's hair is getting sooooo long her afro look won't do for much longer. 

Now I just need a squirmy two year old to sit still longer!

I think this picture makes Mauren look like she's ready for Kindergarden.  WHAT????!!!!

 The braids only lasted two days (hence the need for more practice) but the best part of braids is the crazy hair-do after the braids are taken out!

We have scheduled Mauren's 2 year pictures next week and have been practicing her smile.... I think we need to have the protographer tell her to smile instead of us!

It needs some work!

Mauren's new favorite toy is Daddy's iPad.  There are multiple apps on there for her but she loves 'Wheels on the Bus.'  At two she already knows how to find her folder and choose between her apps!

Crazy!  Do we have a 'techy' on our hands?!?

I know what you're thinking!  Yes, she's starting to dress herself!

Labor Day Weekend in South Dakota

Our Labor Day Weekend started off with Mauren's frist fishing trip!

Mauren met a new friend and thought we should take him home with us!

Next we were off to the corral to ride Oreo

Sunday we set out on the next adventure.....four-wheeling!

We had a great weekend celebrating Mauren's 2nd birthday with Yaya & Papa!

We could not have pulled off the weekend without all their help.

 

It's a good thing Mauren opened her gifts the night before her party & with just us around. 
She is still not quite into ripping & tearing.  It took forever for her to open her gifts!
