More 1st's for Mauren!

 We celebrated the Fruita Fall Festival this weekend.  Mauren was in her first parade as we walked for Bank of the West!   We were at the beginning of the parade so we got to watch most of it too!

 We met some friends in the afternoon so the kids could have some fun and ride the rides!  Mauren rode her first horse!  She loved it and wasn't scared at all!  I was more scared she was going to fall since she wasn't really holding on.

 Mauren also got to ride the Merry-go-Round for the first time!

My attempts to get Mauren walking on video has not prevailed.  This is the best I've got so far.  Mauren's not real excited about walking since she knows she can get whatever she wants quickly enough on her knees. 

Mauren's Walking!

Yes, Mauren is walking but I can't seem to get any good video of her taking a few steps on her own.  So....here's some pics from the last week of Mauren playing and having fun!

Mauren is obsessed with this hat!  She got it from Grama when we visited Minnesota

It's the only thing she will keep on her head!

Can you see who is peeking through the window while Mauren is eating?  Poor Jasper gets stuck outside since Mauren doesn't understand that he doesn't get the same food as she does!

What else is Mauren doing at 13 1/2 months?

*Makes lots of animal sounds but very quietly

*Pretends she's brushing her hair or getting dressed

*Knows basic body parts - especially her nose & everyone else's

*Eats about everything that is introduced - even grilled onions!

*Tells you how old she is

*Gives loves & kisses when asked

*Still loves books more than any toy

*Is easy to put to bed and sleeps GREAT!

*Is difficult to dress since she's got a tiny waist with long legs & torso

*Loves to try on shoes (I have a feeling this will be a life-long fetish!)

*Is a very happy little girl with very blessed parents!!

Labor Day Week with Yaya & Papa

Yaya & Papa came to visit for a week and spent much of their time with Mauren.  She wasn't feeling real great at the beginning of the week so there were lots of cuddles and reading of books.

Once Mauren was feeling a little better everyone got out on the golf course.

Papa taught Mauren to throw a football! 

Yaya shared her cookies with Mauren! Hmmmm!!

                                                                         

Yaya & Papa even experienced a little naughty Mauren....here's a picture of her first official time-out for hitting.  She even had to sit in her time-out chair.  She was showing a little "tude" that day!
